We kicked off our first Sketch Meetup featuring wonderful artist and illustrator Jacquelin de Leon in January. And we've done one every month since, featuring a wide range of artists all of whom have just been such a pleasure to hang out with.
The idea for this monthly gathering sprung from wanting to make successful, working artists be more accessible to others who are just starting out and trying to find their footing in today's art industry, wherein without support from some sort of a community can be quite difficult to navigate. We wanted to have a way and a place for artists in different stages of their career to interact and mingle and inspire each other. The event is free. It's relaxed. No pressure- just hang-out, sketch, doodle or draw and have a chill conversation. Some sugary snacks and drinks are provided and for a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon, just before dinner, you get to make new friends or catch-up with ones you haven't seen in a while and hopefully leave more motivated than ever.
